About Patricia

Hello, I am Patricia Hy (hee) - Boulais.  Welcome to my blog.
For more than forty years, I have been involved in tennis at different levels: a professional tennis competitor;  a tennis academy owner; a high-performance coach;  a tennis mom; a commentator, and a conference speaker.

As a professional tennis competitor, I competed among some of the best athletes in the world - Chris Evert, Martina Navratilova, Stephi Graf, Martina Hingis, Monica Seles, Serena & Venus Williams to name a few and reached a career-high ranking of 28th in the world and ranked 1 in Canada for several years.

One of my coolest experiences as a professional athlete was competing in three Olympics: Los Angeles; Barcelona; and Atlanta.  It was an absolute eye-opener to be with the best athletes in the world.

I was thoroughly touched and honoured to be inducted into the Hong Kong Tennis Association Hall of Fame and Tennis Canada Hall of Fame respectively.

After retiring from the tour, my husband and I opened and operated Hytennis Academy where I worked with young athletes transitioning to national and professional levels.

Along my four decades journey in tennis I have seen and experienced a lot.  And I can tell you with confidence that by far the toughest and most gratifying is working with my own children.  I am a tennis mom to two teenage student-athletes in the family.  As of this writing, my eighteen-year-old daughter is going to Ohio State University with a full tennis scholarship, and my sixteen-year-old son competing on the junior and professional tour.
